May

May was a busy month---just like usual--almost as busy as December--filled with concerts and end of the school year hustle and bustle.  The month started off celebrating Blake Marnick's birthday.  He turned 6 just days after moving in with us.  We celebrated by taking the kids to Planet Play.  I guess we had a lot of fun because I have no pictures.  Oh well.  Next up came Nathan's piano recital.   He played In Dreams from The Lord of the Rings and did a great job.  He also did a duet with Matt at this recital.
Nathan with Mrs. Bryce his teacher.  He earned his trophy this year by the hair of his chinny chin chin.
Next up came prom for Miranda.  She was excited to get asked, but mostly so she could buy and wear a prom dress.  She found a beautiful dress and looked just like the princess that she is.

going for comfort with style:)

My friend Shelley did her hair.... it turned out amazing.

Miranda and Brian Seamons all ready to go.

We spent a lot of time just hanging out with the Marnicks this month. As it turns out it's kind of fun living with a best friend.  The kids did great together and Jack (our cat) LOVED having company in the basement at night.  I felt so lucky to have this time with Christy before they moved to Denver.

Matt took all the boys on a hike up to Bells Canyon
Matt also took the boys out Mother's Day shopping
Miranda's last choir concert
Miranda's last concert was amazing. We will miss getting to hear her sing and I know she will miss singing with this group of friends.  She has had a lot of fun this year in choir.

The YW even came to hear her-Miranda with Kaylin and Abigail
Tyler's last Junior High concert.  Yes, another great concert
Cole, Tyler, James, Doug
Tyler will miss his band teacher who just happened to be on just the right level of nerdiness.  This last concert had a Star Wars theme...complete with exerts from the films and cardboard cutouts.

Near the end of May, with the weather getting warmer, we decided it was time to try out our new backyard fire pit that we got for Christmas.  The boys loved it.  Now , of course, they burnt/melted more marshmallows than they ate, but that's half the fun right?

So, May was a full and busy month.  We did a lot of fun things and went to some great concerts, but my FAVORITE thing this month was getting to Skype with my missionary son.  Oh I love and miss that boy! I am SO thankful for modern technology that allows me to see him as we talk.  We are down to just one more call now.  He will be home in just 7 months!
