I hope they call me on a mission...

Last Wednesday we got this letter in the mail.  I had to wait until Saturday at three for Jacob to get home and all the family and friends to come before I could find out what was inside.  I was tempted to steam it open, in fact, many a friend suggested it.  However, I am so thankful I didn't.  There's NO way I could have kept my mouth shut about what was inside.  Here's the hint...it's not on our prediction board.
Yep, you heard it right.  Jacob will spend the next two years serving in the Albuquerque, NM mission...speaking Spanish. CRAZY!!!!!  We all had to take a second look just to see for ourselves that's what it really said.  He reports to the MTC on January 11th.
You might ask , "What's so crazy about Albuquerque, NM?"  Well, what's crazy is that I was raised in Albuquerque.  Jacob's grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins live in Albuquerque.  The mission home is only miles away from the house Jacob lived in when he was in Kindergarten.  Also it's crazy because two other young men from our ward have gotten calls to Albuquerque.  One of them is home already, but the other has only been out for 9 months.  Due to these things, Albuquerque was one of the last places we thought he would go.  But WOW the Lord works in wondrous ways.  Hey, we already know he'll like the food:)  Now we are just wondering if he still wants to go to Albuquerque for the week between Christmas and New Years like we planned...maybe he will...just to get a little head start on this mission thing?!
Jacob looking over his To Do/To Buy list..He'll be busy the next few months
CRAZY!
