Oh Sadness....

Today is a sad day in our house. Our cat, Charlie, that we have had for over 7 1/2 years died last night. Here's where it would be nice if I was a good writer. I could write "An Ode to Charlie" I would say what a great cat he was...mellow and loving. Poor Nathan is not quite sure what to do. Charlie came into the family before he did. They were close companions. He was a sweet cat..unless you ask the neighbors dogs. He will be missed:(

We don't know how he died. Our next door neighbors found him on their sidewalk and called us. He clearly had not been hit by a car. There was no blood, just peaceful sleep. He was just fine earlier in the day. Maybe it was poison or maybe a kitty heart attack. We will never know.

So tonight we buried him in our backyard and had a little graveside service...full of the usual tears and heartbreak. And once again we realize....when you buy a pet, you buy a tragedy.

I'm so sorry. Losing a pet can be so hard. We lost our prairie dog pet several years ago and still haven't quite recovered...
(hugs)

He looks JUST like our cat Tiger and I must say I'm probably not going to grieve over her like you are over your Charlie when she passes to kitty heaven. Her best characteristic is keeping away the mice.

Charlie will always be in your hearts... thinking of you.
