4th of July

We had a great 4th of July this year. The state of Utah legalized those big aerial fireworks and extended the days you could use them so it seemed like we had a big fireworks show every night in our neighborhood. The kids loved that. My uncle Denis and aunt Mary came from Colorado and got to join in on our Yummy BBQ earlier in the day. I got a photo of the leftover food...just what you wanted to see...but I didn't get a photo of Mary and Denis. Kinda bummed about that. It was fun getting to visit with them. For most of my adult life they have lived overseas or in Hawaii so my kids had never met my namesake. They were surprised how much Denis reminded them of papa.
Later for fireworks we made our usual trek down to the trax station to watch the Sandy City fireworks. The Croll family joined us this year. Great fireworks, great friends. This year though, they didn't let us light our own fireworks there so we all came back to our house and had our own fireworks show. Good day and good night. Our independence was celebrated:)
