Hatch Family Summer Marathon

This summer we have all been working to complete the Hatch family summer marathon. Luckily we had all summer to run, walk, hike, bike or swim 26.2 miles. We had a lot of fun with it. All that walking around DC really helped too. So last night we walked/ran our last mile together going from our house to a park and had our finishers party. The kids got to run through the finish line (they each got to break their own finish line) and we all got medals and certificates. And then, of course, we got to eat some yummy treats.

Great Grandma Hatch even completed the marathon with all the physical therapy exercises she's done this summer. It was a fun and motivating way to get exercising into our summer. The kids had a lot of fun marking miles off their chart and seeing how far they had gone. Most of us had our marathons finished even before we went to DC (Jacob and Matt..probably Miranda too...finished the equivalent of several marathons this summer). I'm sure we will do it again next year so for those of you who didn't finish, there's always next summer.

That is so awesome! Things like this make me really miss living in Utah. What a fun thing for the kids!
