New Adventures

Last week Miranda and Jacob were able to go to our ward youth conference at Snow College. They were able to see the Manti pageant and do dome other great activities like a ropes obstacle course. They got home mid-day Wednesday, just in time for us to go see Toy Story 3. Great Movie! And yes, I cried, but what was even better was coming out of the theater to see my 17 year old and my 12 year old boys both with tears in their eyes. Sweet!

Then we had to get home so Jacob could start packing for his next adventure---Europe!

Yep, that lucky kid is in Europe right now with his Grandpa Hatch. Thanks to my brother in law Rich, they were able to use buddy passes for their flights which made the whole trip somewhat affordable. So, early....early Thursday morning Ron and Jacob headed to the airport in hopes to get to London by Sunday. Well, they were in London by the next morning. They got right on to the flights they wanted...they didn't even have to spend a night in the airport. Lucky them. They biggest thing they had to deal with now was major jet lag. They have been having a great time and they have seen some beautiful places. We have been posting updates on facebook if you want more details. Jacob got to tour around the castle in the photo below one day and then yesterday they took a train to Northern Wales only to find out they had gotten on the wrong train and ended up in Liverpool. So, Jacob got to see several of the sights where the Beatles got started. They are now back in Northern Wales looking for more castles and adventures. They plan to stay in Wales for a bit longer then head back to London. From there, they will take the chunnel to Paris. They are footloose and fancy free, just seeing what they want to see. They have no prearranged hotel stays and no set return flight. What an adventure. I'm sure he will come home with lots of photos and stories to share. In other adventure news:

*Nathan and Matt went backpacking last weekend and had a marvelous time. They even saw a baby rattlesnake.

*Tyler went camping at the Geobeds and came home with some pretty amazing rocks.

*Miranda went to see Eclipse last night. It was just as cheesy as she expected:)

*I got a teaching job for this fall! I will be working part-time (9am to 1pm) at Summit Academy in Draper. Iwill be working as a teacher's aide, teaching math and language to 2nd graders. I couldn't be more thrilled. It's going to be a great new adventure for me:)
