Halloween!

It was an interesting Halloween here. Good, but different. Whether I like it or not, our kids are growing up. That means traditions, activities are changing. Sad, but right. This year Nathan was our only trick-or-treater. Our day started off with Nate's last soccer game until spring. It was cold, but he still had a good time. Then it was down to Provo for the Hatch family Halloween party. Doughnuts on a string...

Combine all that with potato soup, mummy dogs, grandpa's "spook" alley, and some other fun crafts and games, and you have a great time:) After we got home from Provo, it was time to carve pumpkins. This year we carved just two. However, they were both from OUR garden:)

Then it was off to trick-or-treating with Harry Potter...Like I said it was a different year. Tyler left early Friday morning for a scout camp out to Goblin Valley and didn't get home until 5pm on Saturday. He missed the party and pumpkins, but was here to be the candy passer outer. Miranda helped with pumpkins but missed the party. Jacob didn't trick or treat, but he did have his annual Halloween concert at Jordan High on Thursday night. It's always a great night where they play spooky music and you never know what their band director is going to be dressed like. The students are also expected to dress up. This year Jacob dressed up as Edward (from Twilight). It was great. Before the concert started when they were warming up on the stage, he was in the shadows--no sparkles, but as soon as the stage lights came on for them to start playing, he sparkled. It was great:) So, at the end of the night we were all tired (a bit cold), and, at least one of us, was filled with candy:)
