For family night on Monday we finally got to launch model rockets. The boys (yes, including Matt) have been wanting to do this for EVER. They spent the weekend making them and were rewarded with three amazing launches. We invited Grandma and Grandpa Hatch up to join in on the fun. By the third launch we had several others watching them too...they attracted most of the boys at the park. Nathan named his rocket "Big Betty". After the first launch there was a burn mark on the launch pad. When Nathan saw it he got all happy and loudly replied "Look! It's Betty's poop!" What a boy! It was a fun night topped off with ice cream treats G & G brought. Yum-o!
And somehow I didn't post another family night we had a few weeks ago. We have been working on taking out the huge flower bed in our front yard. We just don't have the time, energy, or desire to manage a huge flower bed. So, we decided to sod it. We decided to make a party of it and invited Matt's family to help...a free dinner would be their pay. And lucky for us we had a few takers. They were able to lay the sod fairly quickly and we even got the smaller, more manageable flower bed blocked off. We started digging out the flower bed last fall just before Jacob went into the hospital, so we are glad to finally be done with the project. It was one of those things that took a lot of work, but now that it is done things are much more simple ...and manageable..and it looks pretty good too (better than the grass/weed infested area that it was).

Looks like a ton of fun! And the yard improvement looks great too.
I love the "Betty poop" comment! That is great! Tyler is off to Scout camp, but we have a reminder of him here... his Mrs. Gant class shirt. :)
What fun family times. Lucky that you guys can be outside and not in this 110 degree weather I'm sure you miss terribly!
